It’s almost the start of another school year. While everyone is busy absorbing the last rays of summer, we know all too well that there are hopefuls out there who are preparing for their internships. Symph has always been proud of its interns — many people from our team were actually once interns. If you are hopeful to become one, we have curated this list of common questions we get from aspiring Symph interns:
We are always hiring interns in Symph all year round.
We are looking for interns that can learn on their own.
Examples:
You have learned on your own by researching in the internet
You have learned on your own by reading books
You have learned on your own by trial and error
You have learned on your own using a combination of the above methods
We are looking for interns that have done *extra* things before. Aside from the usual school requirements.
Examples:
You’ve worked on a side-project on your own
You’ve done a thesis/capstone project on your own or with a team
You’ve done work as a freelancer or in a company
While it would usually depend on your school schedule, we always think it’s better if you have no classes and join Symph as a full-time intern. That way you get to focus, expose and immerse your self more in the real-work atmosphere.
[WITH SAMPLE OF WORKS]
like so.
We usually assign interns to join an existing team working on a real project., so we are only looking for interns that have done things before. We recommend you start working on a side-project on your own. This will accelerate your learning. Once you have built something, let us know. :)
Also, if you’re interested, here’s a Firebase tutorial to get yourself a live web app in less than 2 hours.
Our team will review your sample of works and reply within 24 hours to either decline your application or to schedule an interview. Once the interview is done, the team will conduct another round of review and we’ll let you know of the final result within the day.
*PS: We are looking for interns that have their own laptop or computer. We don’t usually provide devices to our team members, so you have to bring your own device. We’ve had interns bring their CPU and Monitor to the office before. That’s ok. Important: If you don’t have a device, but you think you have really good sample of works, please still send an application, we might make an exception just for you.*
See you in our inbox join@symph.co — we can’t wait for you to be part of the team!
